Top 8 Photography Related Tips

Throughout my professional wedding photography career, I've compiled a Top 8 Photography Related Tips of all the little things you could on your wedding day to assist your photographer to get that photo-perfect result.

1)Communicate with photographer
Get some time to communicate with your photographer; share with your photographer the wedding schedule, venues. Prepare a list that shows whoever not missed out from the picture taking and shots that you do not want your photographer to miss out

2)Follow Schedule
Try your best to stick with your schedule; this is to ensure your photography sessions progress smoothly. Everything unexpected could affect your wedding photography timeframe.

3)Facing photographer
You should ignore the photographer completely when you are in the formal ceremony. However, when photographer comes around to shoot the fun shots, it would be wonderful if couple facing a little bit towards the camera. With this in mind, your photos would look more natural.

4)Photographer meal time
Photographers usually have the camera close at hand in case anything interesting happens. If you could seat them about 20 feet from your own table that would be the perfect distance to get candid shot. If you want to run off and shoot portraits while your guests are finishing dinner, make sure to warn your photographer in advance.

5)Decorate the house & hall
Taking picture in an untidy room or house will compromise the quality of picture. You could pay little attention, to ensure picture looks more clean and attractive. Cover up any un-presentable objects with curtains or drape cloth. Messes are ok if they are wedding messes. Empty boxes and bags should be placed somewhere outside the dressing room. It will further enhance pictures lighting quality if you can allow lots of natural light come into the room.

6)Photographing in the Dressing Room
Some of the best images happen in the dressing room. But if your photographer is male, then you may pay more attention, ensure photographer would never include inappropriate photos in his/her camera. You could also review and discuss the obligation with your photographer, pay keen attention to your intuition, and trust your instincts.

7)Correct Way to Put on the Rings
Couples usually block the picture of ring either with their hand positions or with their bodies when they are putting the rings on each other. You should position your fingers on the top and bottom instead of the sides of the ring. One more tip is to avoid extending your free hand out to grab your partner's wrist so that you can push that ring on there better. If you feel it is necessary to do this, try putting your hand UNDER your partner's hand and grabbing on from below. This approach prevents your wrist from blocking the shot.

8)Videographers
Videographers often show up in the picture taken by photographer as they tend to stand between the subject and photographer. Make sure to tell them to watch for where the wedding photographers are so both do not get in each other's way. It's probably also best to specify very clearly as to which one has the highest priority for you.
